It is now 2014. The 2011 census figures were out long back. Raipur city's population has increased by 25 per cent since 2001. But no revised demarcation of wards' boundaries with the result some ward has a population of 7000 while others have more than 35000. Instead of 12 zones we have only 8 in place till now for a population 12 Lakhs. The municipal polls are being conduced on the basis of old statistics and census 2001 (population: 605747).
Any particular reason for such a delay in effecting needed changes? Who is accountable and responsible?
